In 2013-2014 school year, the City School District of New Rochelle (CSDNR)
Technology Department began to deploy 201 Chromebooks in laptop carts to
elementary classrooms. This technology was such a success that within three years,
we had deployed over 3,200 and will keep adding these devices to continue to impact
Grades 2-12 teaching and learning in the CSDNR classrooms across the district.
What is a Chromebook?
Chromebooks for Education give students, teachers, and administrators a simple
solution for fast, intuitive, and easy-to-manage computing. Chromebooks provide
access to the web’s education and collaboration resources, as well as offers
centralized management and low total cost of ownership. Using Chromebooks,
teachers spend more time teaching and less time managing
classroom technology, and schools.
While using Chromebooks in Grades 2-12 classrooms, CSDNR students can
publish, create, communicate, share, research, explore, listen, watch, program and
more in the CSDNR NredLearn.org CLOUD.
